Dora Moreels

Dora Moreels, 81, passed away on January 11, 2015.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015, at 10:00am, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the chapel. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Dora was born on September 14, 1933, in Wetteren, Belgium. She met and married Lucien Moreels in 1952 and together they moved to Kansas City, MO. Dora worked for Tension Envelopes for 30 years while also taking care of her three children. She was always feeding the geese that wandered into her yard, and took in many stray cats over the years. She made the most delicious meatball soup and raisin bread that will be dearly missed by her family. She was a deeply devoted Catholic and always the caretaker.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Lucien; son David (Brenda); son, Henry (Lou); sister, Denise; grandchildren, Andy, Cody, Dylan, Kellen, and Amanda; step-grandchildren, Casey, Melissa, and Julie Stallbaumer; and great-grandchildren, Hailey, Tanner, Autum, and Alania.
She is preceded in death by one daughter, Linda.
