Jon Morefield

Jon Anton Morefield, 54, of Blue Springs, passed away June 2nd 2013. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10th 2013 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E 39th Street Independence. Inurnment will be at Lobb Cemetery at a later time.
Jon was born October 31st 1958 in Richmond, KY to John and Barbara (Wethington) Morefield. He graduated from Truman High School and enlisted in the Army to be stationed in Hawaii where he served for four years. Jon was a proud father to three children who he constantly cheered and supported all of their athletic teams. He worked for 28 years for the Jackson County Department of Corrections, most recently as an Investigative Specialist. Jon is remembered as a loving and caring man with a big heart. He will surely be missed by all.
Jon is survived by, daughter, Samantha Lea Caputo and husband Dan; sons, Jonathan Rex Morefield and Christopher Michael Morefield; granddaughter, Eleanor “Ellie” Anne Caputo; grandson, Maverick Michael Morefield, and one grandson on the way; brother, Damon Morefield and wife Paula; sister, Carmen Scott and husband Jeff; nephews, Damon Paul, Simon, and Jacob Morefield, and Christopher Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Amber Morefield.
