Violet Mae Morgan, age 92 years old, of Independence Missouri, left this life on January 9,2021. She was born in Lee's Summit Missouri on December 17,1928. She was the second of six children born to Luther and Sarah Violet Arnold.
After graduating Peculiar High School, she moved to "the city" and went to work for Sears. She worked there until her retirement. She then opened Touch of Magic Ceramics at the Intersection of 40 Highway and Lee's Summit Road.
She had to keep her hands busy and became adept at many hand crafts. Quilting became her passion and constantly had a quilt working in her lap. She was a member of The Gathering, formerly Noland Road Baptist Church. She truly enjoyed their Young At Heart group excursions. She also belonged to several social clubs including Red Hats and several quilting groups.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bert W. Morgan, her parents, brother Luther "Bud" Arnold,
and sister Juanita 'Toots" Miller She is survived by brother Bob Arnold of Cabot Arkansas, brother Eddy Arnold of Houston Texas, sister Judy Sapp of Montrose Missouri, daughter Sharon Sexson of Gladstone Mo, daughter Jane Wiviott of Illinois, son Ronald Sexson of Independence Mo, son Richard Sexson (Emalee) of Independence Mo and three grandsons, Kenneth Sexson, Tyler Sexson, and Andrew Sexson.
A private family service will be held on Thursday morning, January 14th, 2021. Flowers for the family can be received by Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St.; Independence, MO. Interment will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
