Ronald Lee “Butch” Morman, 74 of Blue Springs, MO passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Cremation. A memorial service will held at Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 727 N. Main St., Independence, MO 64050. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in his name to the William Chrisman Class of 1961 Scholarship Fund in care of the Independence School District Foundation, 201 N. Forrest Ave., Independence, MO 64050, donate blood to the Community Blood Bank or donate to your favorite charity in his memory. Ronald was born July 27, 1944 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from William Chrisman in 1961 and receiving his bachelor’s degree from CMSU in 1971. He had worked as a computer consultant for Hallmark Cards, Butler Manufacturing and Oracle Corporation. After retirement he was a substitute teacher for Fort Osage School District. He was a huge sports fan but enjoyed photography, reading, going to the casinos and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of the WCHS Class of 1961 reunion committee, he was an Eagle Scout in Tribe of Mic O Say where his tribal name was Keeper of the Sacred Bundle Distant Flaming Sunset and belonged to the Butler Manufacturing retiree’s group. Survivors include; his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Jane Morman of the home; 3 children, Russ Morman and wife Kathryn of Sunrise Beach, MO, Debbie Smith and husband Stan of Buckner, MO and Shawn Morman and wife Debbie of Fort Worth, TX; 6 grandchildren, Katelyn Morman, Sam Morman, Dakota and Laurent Smith, Shelby Smith and Natalie Morman and a great granddaughter, Kamiya Smith.
