Alice May Morris

November 4, 1914 — February 11, 2003

Alice M. Morris, 88, Blue Springs, formerly of Independence died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs.

Mrs. Morris was born Nov. 4, 1914, and was raised in Independence. She married Clifford Morris in 1930 and they were blessed with two children: Bob and Debbie. She retired from Montgomery Ward. She was a Southern Baptist. She was also a strong Republican who worked at the voting polls until her mid-80s and served as a volunteer at the Republican Convention in Kansas City. She moved to Blue Springs in 1985. She enjoyed water aerobics and playing cards � bridge, pinochle and, most recently, hand and foot. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Morris in 1975; her sisters, Margaret James and Viola Willhoit; and her brothers, Alvin and GilbertWillhoit.

Her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah K. and David Balducchi, Arlington, Va., her son and daughter-in -law, Robert L. and Kay Morris, Grain Valley; her sister, Louise Jackson, Raytown; three grandchildren, Tammy (Tim) Schlichting, Grain Valley, Todd (Connie) Morris, Centerview, Mo., and Tim Morris, Odessa; and six great-grandchildren, Shelby Schlichting, Shannon Schlichting, Skyler Morris, Bailey Morris, Clara Morris and Dalton Morris and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Washington Cemetery.
