Helen L. Morris, 71, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Blue Springs, MO surrounded by her daughter, Kimberly and her husband Travis, son Michael and his wife Carrie and her sister Carol. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 26th in the chapel. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Helen was born April 13, 1935 in Springfield, MO to Marion and Anna (Vale) Terrill. She lived most of her life in Independence, MO. Helen was married to Kenneth B. Morris, Jr. in July of 1951 and spent 41 years of happiness together before his passing in September of 1992. Mrs. Morris loved her family, visiting with her many friends, her mornings out at Independence Center, and she loved the presence of her sweet kitty, Sugar, sitting on her lap. Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Travis VanGoethem of Blue Springs, MO, son and daughter-in-law Mike and Carrie Morris of Kansas City, MO, son Robert Morris of CA; grandchildren Timothy Miller, Jr., Michael Morris, Jr., Nathan Miller, Evan Miller, Amanda Morris, Joshua Miller, Jared Morris; great-grandchildren Alexander, Andrew and Athena; sisters Carol Duncan of Independence, MO and Shirley Tucker of Shell City, MO, her brother Robert Terrill of Thousand Oaks, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Mrs. Morris was also preceded in death by her son Kenneth B. Morris III.
