Iva R. Morris, 80, Kansas City, Ks., formerly of Independence died Feb. 10, 2005 at Medicalodge East in K.C., Ks. A memorial gathering will be held at 7 pm, Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at her daughter, Cheryl Fox�s home at 9506 E. 16th Street South, Independence, phone 816-254-8422. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer�s Assoc. Iva was born Jan. 10, 1925 in Glencoe, Ohio to Carl and Tressa (Sutton) Knox. She was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and a registered nurse, serving most recently for eight years at the Medical Center of Independence and retiring in 1996. She served a two-year tour of duty in Vietnam while an R.N. for the United States Agency for International Development. She was also a High Priestess of Tarrara Court Ladies Oriental Shrine, a volunteer at the Jackson County Shrine Club, and a member of St. Mark�s Catholic Church. Iva was preceded in death by her loving husband E.C. Morris and a stepdaughter, Betty. She is survived by son John Thomas Bonness, Atlanta, Ga; daughter Cheryl A. Fox; stepson E.C. Morris, Jr., both of Indep., Mo; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
