Ouida Morris, 92, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018. A visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Carson Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO, 64052. A service will follow at 2pm.
Ouida was born on December 31, 1925 in Independence, MO to Gernsey and Willametta (Carver) Deaton. She worked several different positions at Sears Roebuck and Company. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. In her spare time, Ouida really enjoyed dogs, feeding squirrels and birds, and playing computer games. Most of all she loved being around kids and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Robert Morris and wife Norma of Gulfport, FL; two granddaughters Colleen Donaubauer and husband Rick of St. Charles, MO, Julie Schmoeger and husband Vince of Lee’s Summit, MO; great-grandchildren Brandon Darby, Jace Smith, Corey Smith, Courtney Murphy, and Sydney Schmoeger; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Ouida was preceded in death by her brother Gerald Deaton, daughter Betty Feeney, and sister Ruth Snow.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Wayside Waifs.
