Joy Arlene Muir (Reid)

Joy Muir, 81, of Independence, MO passed away September 14, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Waldo Ave Restoration Branch, 819 West Waldo Ave Independence, MO. Joy was born on December 9, 1935 in Port Huron, Michigan to Beryl and Thelma (Burley) Reid. She loved to spend time in Michigan at her cottage on the St. Clair River, watching freighters go by and collecting beach glass. Joy also enjoyed collecting antiques, spending time among her Amish friends, and was active in numerous church activities. Joy and her husband were members of Waldo Ave Restoration Branch for many years. Survivors include; husband of over 54 years, Richard Muir; daughter Wendi Weiss; son Kevin Muir and his wife Trula; son Michael Muir, and his wife Darlene; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a large extended family and many friends. Joy is preceded in death by her parents. In Lieu of flowers family requests that donations be made to your local food bank.
