Beryl Dale Mummert, 62, of Topeka, KS passed away on February 16, 2007. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel, with burial at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Beryl was born on April 19, 1944 in Columbus, KS. He was a graduate of Pittsburgh State University. He worked for Social Services in Wichita, KS before moving on to work over 20 years at KNI in Topeka, KS. Beryl was preceded in death by his life partner, John E. Hilliard III; his parents, Clifford and Ida Mae Mummert; his stepfather; and his father-in-law, John Hilliard II. He is survived by his son, Scott and wife Tammy Lynch of Topeka, KS; mother-in-law, Lee Jane Hilliard; stepfather-in-law, Ray Holland; grandchildren, Megan and Lauren Lynch of Topeka, KS; brothers, Roy Smith of Girard, KS, Jess and Sandra Hilliard, Philip and Julie Hilliard, and Duane and Becky Hilliard; and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. He will be dearly missed.
