Jeanette Muncrief, 59, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on November 6, 2014, after over four years of bravely battling cancer. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014, from 6-8:00pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055.
She was born on October 5, 1955 to Vernon and Maxine Corliss. Later in life, she met and married Lon Muncrief and had two daughters, Ashley and Heather. Jeanette, or “Ol’-What’s-Her-Name”, “Fireball”, or “’Mater”, as she was affectionately called, was always full of life, loved going antique shopping, and being involved in her family’s lives. She was humbly generous, and never sought for any recognition. She was selfless, hardworking, and always put her daughters first. She was the neighborhood Mom, and knew how to dish out lots of love with a side of motherly guilt! She loved singing along to Judy Garland, Fleetwood Mac, and the Eagles. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, where she always made the best sweet potatoes to share with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Mike Corliss. She is survived by her two daughters, Heather (Bryan) Morris and Ashley (Adam) Benckeser; two granddaughters, London and Riley Morris; and one sister, Leslie Corliss.
Contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation in honor of Jeanette.
