Verlyn Aileen Munoz

Verlyn Aileen Munoz, 79, Independence, Mo. passed away peacefully on June 13, 2005, at Mercy Hospice, Johnston, Iowa. Services will be 10 am, Friday, June 17, 2005 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Public Television. Verlyn was born Sept. 7, 1925 in Independence. Verlyn graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1943, Grinnell College in 1947, and Kansas City Law School (now UMKC Law School). She was a member of P.E.O. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Filbert Munoz in 2000. She is survived by daughter Virginia M. Cousins, Chappaqua, NY; son David Munoz and daughter-in-law Margie, Des Moines, IA; niece Lupe Ramirez, Independence; grandchildren Robert & Alexander Cousins, Nick & Marcus Munoz; and great-grandson Andrew Gleason.
