Marguerite (O�Day) Murphy, 97, of Kansas City, MO passed away Friday, June 10, 2005. A Prayer Service will be 7 pm Monday, June 13th with visitation following until 8:30 pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence. Graveside services will be 11 am Tuesday at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, MO. Marguerite was born August 24, 1907 in Hamilton, M O to John and Leona Riley. She was a graduate of Missouri State Teachers College and taught school in a one room schoolhouse. After raising four daughters, she was one of the first nurses in the original LPN class of the old Cameron Hospital. She worked for over 20 years for Dr. E.L. Gehrke in Kansas City. Marguerite was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and Alter Society in Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leo O�Day, and Francis Murphy; and two daughters. She is survived by daughters, Jody Brady and husband Jack of Kansas City; Lenora Holtom of El Cajon, CA; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; a brother, and sisters.
