Bill Murphy, 87, of Climax Spring (formally of Independence) MO passed away on May 22, 2017. A Celebration of life will take place on May 30, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Bill was born on August 17, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to Fergus and Alice Murphy. He went to work at a young age before joining the Army. After returning home he went to work for Armco Steel were he remained for the next 35 years. He was a proud member of United Steel Workers Local #13. After retirement Bill and his wife, June enjoyed their winters in Weslaco, Texas. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include; daughter Vickie Swanson; son William Murphy, Jr. and his wife Tina; son Jack Murphy and his wife Tara; grandchildren Terry Swanson, Tyler Murphy, Blake Murphy, and Macrae Murphy; 3 great grandchildren Timothy Swanson, Michelle Swanson, and Trey Swanson; a large extended family and many friends in MO and TX. Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, June Ann Murphy, his parents and a sister Myrtle Murphy.
