John David Musslin, 80, of Independence, MO died on Thursday January 30th, 2014. He was born on July 20, 1933 to Bernice I. Kaenke and Andrew A. Musslin in Syracuse, MO. John attended Olive Branch School. He served Honorably in the United States Army, 5th Armored Division from 1953 up to 1961 during which he served in the Korean Conflict . He was self employed and owned John Musslin Waterproofing. He is survived by seven siblings: Martha Schmidt, Gertrude Hunt, Dwain Musslin, Jean Ransdall, Paul Musslin, Barbara McCown and Dorothy Musslin. He is also survived by four daughters: Celeste Crabtree and husband Greg Crabtree, Aimee Silkwood, Bridget Covert, Delora Rialti and husband Gary Rialti;. seven grandchildren: Hali Musslin, Emily Silkwood, Briiohn Covert, Sherene Covert, Vivian Covert, Olivia Crabtree, Elizabeth Crabtree and great-grandson Logan Parr.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and being outdoors. He was a car enthusiast, loved working on Mustangs and going to NASCAR races. He also enjoyed dancing and frequenting casinos. John always worked hard and gave generously to all of his family and friends. Following burial with Full Military Honors a reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus at St. Andrew’s Church.
