David Edward Myers passed away December 2, 2016 at Rosewood at the Groves.
He was born January 19, 1927 in Bisbee, Arizona to Dave H. and Gertrude Myers. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Bishop (husband Sam) of Independence, Missouri, son Steven Myers (wife Susan) of Smithville, Missouri, sister Margie Morrison of Oak Grove, Missouri , brothers, John Myers (wife Jan) and Robert Myers (wife Kathy) of Independence, Missouri, grandchildren David Myers, Sammy Bishop, Angie Fears (husband Brian), Stevie Myers, of Independence, Missouri, Paul Bishop (wife Shawna) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Trevor Myers and Brady Myers of Overland Park, Kansas, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Harvey, parents, Dave & Gert Myers, brother Gary Myers, brother-in-law Lee Morrison, niece, Wendy Klein and great-nephew Dallas Bromley.
He attended William Chrisman High School. He was an Elder in the R.L.D.S. Church, now known as Community of Christ, and attended New Hope Congregation. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of working. He then became a real estate agent and worked for Gaslight Realty and Heart of America Homes. He also worked for HyVee delivering flowers and medicine.
Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, December 8 at Speaks Suburban on 39th Street. A memorial service will be held at Special Ministries (formerly Englewood Congregation) Community of Christ on December 10th at 11:00 a.m.
