Larry Myers

Larry D. Myers, 62 of Independence, MO passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at St. Mary’s Manor in Blue Springs, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with burial to follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. Larry was born June 4, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to Raymond Leon and Irene Mae (Rinkenbough) Myers, Sr. and has been a lifelong area resident. He worked for a number of years for the Allis Chalmers Plant and had recently retired as a mechanic for the City of Independence. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, remote control planes and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Hermitage First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon Myers of the home; a daughter, Angel Scheer and husband Russell of Nevada, MO; 3 sons, Kevin Myers and wife Maria of Blue Springs, MO, Michael Myers of the home and Greg Myers and wife DeeAnn of Blue Springs, MO; 2 sisters, Mary Sutton of Mena, AR and Shirley Alford of Raytown, MO; a brother Ray Myers, Jr. and wife Brenda of Hermitage, MO; 9 grandchildren, Anthony Scheer, Heather Scheer, Tiffany Scheer, Justin Myers, Ryan Myers, Emily Myers, Megan Myers, Patrick Myers and Daniel Myers and 3 great grandchildren, Covy Confer, Addison Scheer and Tyler Scheer.
