Myrna Loy Minter, 84, Independence, MO, died December 15, 2024, at the Fountains of Greenbriar in Independence, MO. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, located at 19020 East 39th Street South, Independence, MO 64055. A Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
Myrna was born in Holdenville, OK on April 9, 1940, daughter of Marvin and Helen Gantt. She graduated from Wewoka High school where she met David H. Minter. They were married on December 31, 1959 after he served his full duty in the U.S. Navy. They lived in Mineral Wells, Tx, Independence, MO, and Tulsa, OK. Myrna was a member of Heart of God Fellowship in Buckner, MO and worked for the VA Hospital before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafts, traveling, and her sons' many activities.
She is survived by two sons, D. Thomas Minter and wife, Twila, of San Antonio, TX, and Timothy H. Minter and wife, Katrina, of Grain Valley, MO; brother, Charles Gantt and wife, Pat, of Huto, TX, and Rick Gantt and wife, Mary, of Wewoka, OK; grandchildren, Jonathan and wife, Amy, Amber, Marcyn, and Mallin; twelve great-grandchildren; sister-in-law JoAnne Jones; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband, David H Minter; sisters, Eunice and LaWanda; and brother, James.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Family Conservancy located at 444 Minnesota Avenue, Suite 200 in Kansas City, KS 66101.
