Steve Neeley, 42, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Speaks Buckner Chapel on Monday, December 2, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 3rd at First Baptist Church of Bates City. Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery, Fort Osage, MO.
Steve was born August 21, 1971 in Kansas City, MO to Ollie Thomas and Edna Lou (Sitton) Neeley as one of three children. He attended East High School and graduated with an Associates Degree in Biblical Theology from Tri City Ministries. He married Bridgett (Mason) February 6, 1999 and together they had three children. He worked alongside his father for Neeley Automotive since high school and also devoted his time as Pastor to Safe Harbor Baptist Church, a congregation he helped plant. Steve enjoyed bowling and fishing but most importantly he loved serving the Lord and his family. He is remembered for his outgoing spirit and his love for children.
Steve is survived by wife of fourteen years, Bridgett of the home; daughter, Kylee Ann Hope Neeley; son, Samuel Mason Neeley; and daughter, Emily Grace Neeley all of the home; his parents, Ollie and Edna Neeley; father-in-law, Douglas E. Mason and wife Diane “Sue” of Bates City, MO; mother-in-law, Ruth Kruger and husband Richard of Independence, MO; sister, Marilyn Hernandez and husband Florencio of Kansas City, MO; brother, Roger Allen Neeley and wife Yvonne of Independence, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will dearly miss him.
