David B. Newton

David B. Newton, 60, passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2017. A memorial visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, November 26, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 39th Street at M-291 Hwy, Independence, MO. A private burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, MO, at a later date. David graduated in 1975 from Archbishop O’Hara High School and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Geology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1980. He worked for over 20 years as a Construction Specialist at University of Kansas Medical Center and recently retired in June. David was preceded in death by his father, Clayton A. Newton, and grandmother, Rose Fiorella. He is survived by his mother, Elnora J. Newton, of Independence, MO; his sister and brother-in-law, Josephine Newton-Lund and Richard Lund, of Raytown, MO; his nephew, Gunnar Lund, of Somerville, MA; and his niece, Victoria Lund, of Kansas City, MO.
