Edith M. Nichelson, 85 of Blue Springs, formerly of Independence passed away Sat. Feb. 17, 2007 at St. Mary�s Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 am, Thu. Feb 22, 2007 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Indep. MO. Burial in Md. Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the chapel. Mrs. Nichelson was born on Sep. 27, 1921 to Daniel and Grace (Hinkley) Lloyd in Des Moines, IA. She had worked in the Dietary Department at the Independence Regional Health Center retiring in 1994. During WWII she was employed at the Lake City Ammunition Plant. Edith was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family. The highlights of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edith married Buford "Nick� Nichelson on Jul. 24, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Lloyd and Grace Lloyd, a step mother, Laura Lloyd, a sister, Ernestine Rodgers, five brothers, Kenneth Lloyd, Donald Lloyd, Fred Norris, Glen Norris and Leslie Norris. She is survived by a son, Jack Nichelson and wife Sharon of Kansas City, MO and a daughter Jan Niemann and husband Ron of Blue Springs, MO. Three sisters, Elizabeth Netz of Raytown, MO, Elsie Struzick of Joplin, MO and Grace Johnson of Independence, MO. A Brother-in-Law, Abe Nichelson of Independence, MO and a sister-in-law, Doris Nichelson of Grain Valley, MO. Six grandchildren, Eric, Shannon, Stacy, Teresa, Michelle and Jack Jr. (Chip) and by seventeen great grandchildren.
