Lois E. Nicholls, 80, Blue Springs, MO passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. Lois was born May 20, 1934 in Bethany, MO the daughter of Garland and Maxine (Lawrence) Kerns. Lois owned and operated Double Nickels Ceramics, in Independence and taught ceramics for a number of years. She was a member of Mt. Washington Methodist Church and was a den mother when her son’s were younger. Lois enjoyed bowling and loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her son, David Nicholls in 1975; brothers, Ron and Jerry Kerns; and her parents. Survivors include her loving husband, Lowell Nicholls of 61 years; children and their spouses, Stephen Nicholls (Melodye), Richard Nicholls (Beth), Susan Klein (Dennis); grandchildren, Jared, Justin, Cassandra, Jacob, Brandon, Megan, Paige, and Mia; eight great grandchildren; and additional nieces, nephews, and family. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mirian Cemetery, Bethany, MO.
