Linda Carol Nichols, 64 of Kansas City, MO passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at her residence. Cremation is planned with a memorial gathering to be held from 6 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening, March 17, 2016 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Linda was born July 21, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to Robert and Caroline (Johnson) Best and has been a lifelong area resident. She had worked in manufacturing plants in Kansas City most recently as a supervisor in quality control for Dura Automotive Systems in Hannibal, MO where she retired in 2006. She had also worked at Tension Envelopes, Children’s Mercy Hospital and for the Kansas City Post Office. She was an avid Facebook fan especially Farmville, NASCAR, going and participating in mud runs and, most importantly helping raise her grandchildren. She is survived by; her companion, William Schwanke of the home; a daughter, Sheri Nichols of Raytown, MO; 2 sons, Daniel Nichols and wife Jill of Holt, MO and Nick Nichols and wife Sondra of Kansas City, MO; 2 brothers, Jim Best and wife Cindi of Smithville, MO and Robert Best and wife Joyce of Athens, AL; a sister, Donna Rowe and husband Pete of Raytown, MO and 16 grandchildren.
