John E. Nickles, 68, Independence, MO, died unexpectedly Feb. 22, 2008. Services will be at 10 am, Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at the funeral home.
John was born Feb. 27, 1939 in Kansas City, MO. He was a warehouse foreman for AR-KA-MO Sales & Service in NKC for 28 years. He then worked in the Maintenance Dept. at Smithville Middle School for five years before retiring in 2002. He loved to fish and was a fan of all sports �" especially boxing. He also followed the Chiefs and Oklahoma Sooners.
John is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Margaret Nickles, of the home; son Steven Nickles, Tulsa, OK; daughter Anna Marie John and companion Randy Brimer, Liberty, MO; sons Paul Edward Nickles and wife Tina, Tulsa, OK; Kevin Lee Nickles, Riverside, MO; Phillip Wayne Nickles and wife Ronelle, Independence, MO; daughter Karen Lynn Chambers and husband David, Smithville, MO; sisters Kathleen Lewis, Anna Marie Pecina, Frances Fultz, Marlene Klare, Patricia Hedges, Sharon Turner, Mary Jane Nickles; brother Larry Nickles; and fourteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Edward & Mary Kathryn Nickles and two grandsons.
