Miriam Marguerite “Toots” Niemeyer, 92 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at her residence. Services will be 6:00 p.m., Monday evening, March 21, 2016 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with cremation to follow. Inurnment will be at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the services Monday until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to Gentiva Hospice. “Toots” was born May 6, 1923 in Tribune, KS to Charles and Marie (Chambers) Kuder. She graduated from Osawatomie, KS in 1941. She had worked for 20 years as an Order Planner for Hallmark Cards before she retired in 1989. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, was an avid KC Royals fan and most of all enjoyed time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a devout family person who was very loving, honest and sincere. She was married to Edwin H. Niemeyer and was widowed at a early age. She is survived by; 2 daughters, Sharon Bates of Independence, MO and Darlene Johnson and husband Stephen of Kansas City, MO; a son, Edwin Charles Niemeyer and wife Connie of Sacramento, CA; a brother, Jim Kuder of Independence, MO; a sister, Rosalie Lee of Vermillion, KS; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
