Nola Mae Brock passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023 - just two weeks shy of  her 92nd birthday. Mae was born on August 26, 1931 in Viola, MO to Elbert and Blanche (Plummer) Swofford. Mae married Howard Brock on June 9, 1947. Together they had seven children. Mae loved the Lord and her family with all her heart.  She was the perfect example of hospitality and numerous lives have been touched by her love. Everyone who knew her, loved her like a mother, grandmother, or sister of their own. Mae enjoyed life on earth to its fullest. She loved her house at the lake. She liked to work in the yard, with her flowers and plants. Mae loved what she called “hand work” - quilting, crocheting and embroidery. Mae also enjoyed cooking for her family.  She enjoyed sending and receiving cards and letters in the mail. And she was the Kansas City Royals’ biggest fan.  Mae was a member of the East Independence Church of Christ and the Shell Knob Church of Christ.  Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter-in-law (Carlene), an infant grandson (Finian), four brothers and five sisters. Mae is survived by all seven of her children: Pat and wife Barbie, Sam and wife Francie, Anita and husband Sam, Bob and wife Jill, Sara and husband Steve, Sally and husband Troy, and Peggy and husband Don; fourteen grandchildren - David, Aaron, Kay, Sandy, Jill, Tim, Nicki, Michelle, Alex, Isaiah, Rachel, Angel, Brock, and Cameron. (Plus Jen, Melinda, Rob, RaDel, Josh, Briana, Casey, Brent and Keila). and twenty-four great-grandchildren - Eli, Toria, Megan, Allison, Ethan, Laurie, Talia, Tristan, Emily, Max, Noah, Violet, Isabel, Zach, Nich, Tyler, Madison, Anthony, Wyatt, Gunner, Cash, Hosea, Odalis and Oscar, two brothers - Rolla and Lonnie, four sisters - Laura, Shirley, Joyce and Mitzi,  and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.  Mae lived a long, full, blessed life. We love her dearly, will miss her greatly and Praise God that she is now with the Father.  A graveside service will be on August 19th at 10:00 at Painter Cemetery in Shell Knob, MO. A Celebration of life will be on August 26th at the East Independence Church of Christ in Independence MO - 10:00 Visitation and 11:00 Memorial Service.
