Nolan William Glauner, 91, passed away on July 5th, 2023, at his home in Buckner, MO. He was born on 14th of May 1932 in Gooding, ID to Hugh Floyd and Elva Helen Glauner.
Nolan moved with his family at four years old to California. He grew up during the Great Depression and attended numerous schools during his young life. Nolan enlisted in the USAF in 1950 and made a career in the Air Force of twenty and a half years. He retired at age thirty-seven in 1970. He obtained high school and more than four years of college while in the service. He worked for a year with the City of Lakewood Colorado, then applied for and was accepted into the Federal Civil Service where he spent another twenty years, retiring once more in 1993. While in the US Air Force, he was trained in weapons munitions, radiological, chemical, and biological warfare; after losing substantial hearing from high pitch noise of jet aircraft and firing ranges, he was retrained into Construction Management. He served as a construction representative for the Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management [BLM] until retirement. Upon the death of Charlotte, Nolan married Nancy Jane Fox in 1996, in Independence, Missouri. They were happily married for 27 years. Nancy was a member of Restoration Movement and she enjoyed making and playing music. She received an Associate Degree from Graceland College at Lamoni, Iowa.
Nolan is survived by wife, Nancy of Buckner, Missouri. Our children are many, seventeen in all beginning with Nolan's natural children, Diana Herald, Deborah Steinke, Raymond Glauner, and Mark Glauner; adopted children Mike, Michael, Linda, Robert, and Thomas. Nancy's children, John Fox (deceased), Catherine Fox, Sarah Sieker; and five foster children in many countries; grandchildren, Dustin Steinke, Kelly Trainer-Barnett, Nathan Herald, Chani Smith, Katie Glauner, Axle Fox, John Fox Jr, Angel Fox, Annie Fox, and Angus Fox; and great-grandchildren, Beckett Steinke, Oliver Barnett, Elliott Barnett, Michaela Trainer, Joey Herald, Mark Herald, Patrick Herald, and Aeden Smith.
Nolan was preceded in death by Hugh Glauner (father) Elva Wright (mother) Garald Laughlin, Dard Laughlin, Muriel McCarty, Pern Laughlin, and Dallas Glauner.
A graveside service will be held at Lobb Cemetery at 2:00pm, Monday July 10th.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ Restored 1830, Addressed to 30 Cliff Drive Buckner, Missouri 64016.
