Loretta Noland

In loving memory of Loretta (Shafer) Noland, 81, Independence, MO, passed peacefully on October 19, 2012 at the Kansas City Hospice House.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64052. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Harris Cemetery in Barada, NE. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House; 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO.

Loretta was born April 25, 1931 in Barada, NE the daughter of Ed and Minnie Shafer. Loretta was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, James Donald “Don” Noland; brother, Edwin Shafer; and daughter in law, Brenda Noland. They were faithful members of the 39th Street Church of Christ.

Loretta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother she is survived by her sons, Donald Keith Noland, and Jay Dee Noland and wife Roxanna; daughter Starlyn Noland; grandchildren, Denise Peery and husband David, Christina Wuckowitsch and husband Rick, Raychael Noland, James Collier, Kim Burleson and Rhonda Damm; and eleven great grandchildren. Loretta was blessed with many nieces, nephews and friends. Loretta was a strong and loving presence and will be missed by all.
