Lenora Adele Nolte, 89, of Independence, MO passed away December 29, 2015. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Funeral Services will be 10 am Monday, January 4, 2016 at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 727 N. Main, Independence, MO. Burial will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Lenora was born on October 23, 1926 in Wellington, MO to Ernest “J.R.” and Clara (Beckman) Busse. Lenora was a member of the last class of cadets to graduate from nursing school at Research Medical Center. With the war at an end, Lenora never entered the service. She spent a number of years as a scrub nurse for Rockhill Orthopedic. Lenora was very involved in her church, St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir, and with Blue Springs Terrace, where she was a member of the board. For many years she also delivered Meals On Wheels in the community. Survivors include; daughters Michelle Hock (David), Marlene Osborn, and Charlotte Hartwig (Ron), brother, Ernest Busse; 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Nolte on February 5, 1990, and her parents. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Luke’s United Church of Christ.
