Donna Marie Norberg

Donna Norberg of Independence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Donna was born on June 11, 1955 in Independence, Missouri. She was one of two children of the late Emil and Gertrude (Gallagher) Norberg. Donna attended William Chrisman High School and worked for many years as a Staffing Coordinator at St. Luke’s Hospital and later for the IRS in Kansas City.

Donna loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with family and friends. She was an avid Kansas Chiefs fan and cheered them on every Sunday. She loved going to concerts seeing the band Alabama; but her first love was Elvis. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends especially Janet, Deb and Carol. She was an avid cat lover spending hours each day playing with them.

Donna is survived by her nieces and nephews, Steven Zahner of Delavan, IL, Kathryn Zahner of Alton, IL, Alan (Mary Ann) Zahner of Alton, IL and Elaine (Ron) Gengenbacher of Aurora, IL. Great nieces and nephew Emily Zahner of Clayton, MO, Amy Zahner of Decatur, IL, Kimberly Zahner of Alton, IL, Mallory Zahner of Alton, IL, Max Gengenbacher of Fort Worth, TX and Ashley Gengenbacher of Champaign, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Norene Zahner.

A visitation to honor Donna will be held on Saturday, June 18, from 9-10:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m., both at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3736 S Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055.
