C. Margaret Noren, 88, of Independence, MO passed away September 13, 2016. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 10 am Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence. Margaret was born on September 29, 1927 in Taylorville, IL to William and Laura Estelle (Leonard) Walton. She attended Taylorville High and graduated with her Bachelor’s from Iowa Wesleyan University and Master’s Degree from Central Missouri State University. On July 12, 1945 Margaret married her high school sweetheart, Clyde W. Noren. They were blessed with 68 years together, until his passing in 2013. Margaret was a special education teacher with the William Southern Elementary School from 1969-1991. She was a member of the Farview Restoration Church of Jesus Christ for many years. In her spare time Margaret enjoyed needlework, quilting, cooking, reading, and gardening. Margaret was a member of Missouri Teachers, life member of NEA, and secretary for the Pre Columbian Institute. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Survivors include; son John Noren (Jean); daughters Jane Farnsworth (Neil) and Jeri Sindt (Arlan); 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; large extended family and many friends. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Noren, her parents, brothers George and Eddie Walton, and a sister Hattie Hatfield. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Center Place Restoration School in honor of Margaret.
