Norman Lee Jones, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 4, 2024, at the age of 79, in Independence, Missouri. Born on January 23, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, Norman lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends.
Throughout his career, Norman worked as a lithographer, a profession he pursued with passion and commitment for 35 years. His journey began as a lithography apprentice after graduating from Northeast High School, where he had transferred in his senior year from Paseo High School. Norman became known for his expertise in his field, spending significant portions of his career at Commercial Lithograph. A devoted husband, Norman found joy and companionship when he married Pam on July 1, 1966. Their partnership was a source of love and happiness, evident to everyone who knew them. Together, they created a nurturing environment that embraced family and friends, reflecting Norman's generous soul. As a grandfather, Norman took immense pride in his grandchildren, attending every sporting event to cheer them on. His support and encouragement provided them with invaluable enthusiasm, a testament to his dedication as a family man. In retirement, Norman embraced the leisure of life, often spending time on the golf course, where he enjoyed playing in a senior's league. He found great joy in riding his Harley, taking frequent joy rides that brought him peace and satisfaction until he could no longer continue.
Norman's passing is preceded by his parents, Gilbert and Dorothy (Mason) Jones; his son-in-law, Scott Seymour; and his brother-in-law, Charles Hobart. His legacy lives on through his loving wife of 58 remarkable years, Pam (Reichman) Jones; his children, Jennifer (Jones) Seymour, Norman Jones Jr. (Jill); his grandchildren, Hayden Seymour, Alix Jones, Mason Seymour, and Peyton Jones; his siblings, Lorena (Jones) Hobart, Paul Jones (Beverly), and Rick Jones (Jo Ann), as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
