Marilyn Louise Nyberg, 75, passed away on March 25, 2016.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 31, at 11am, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the chapel.
She was born on January 16, 1941 in Independence, MO to Cecil and Verna (Kelsey) Parrish. She graduated from Lees Summit High School in the class of 1959. She earned her license as a Registered Nurse, and served 42 years in the Emergency Room of the Independence Regional Hospital. She also spent some time working as a home health nurse. She was very active and adventurous, and enjoyed playing golf, skiing, and fishing. Marilyn was a strong, compassionate caretaker who will be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacie Sparks; granddaughters, Raven and Chelcie Nyberg; sister, Sally Gilbert (husband, Steve); niece, Kelly Platt; nephew, Scott Platt (wife, Melissa); great-nieces, Gabrielle and Faith; and ex-husband, Charles Nyberg.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Nyberg in 2010.
