James Loren “Jim” O’Connor, 75, passed away on February 10, 2016. A visitation will be held from 9-11am Saturday, with service beginning at 11am, both at 39th St. Church of Christ in Independence, MO. He will be laid to rest in Swan Lake Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Church of Christ Missions Work in his honor.
Jim was born on April 22, 1940, in Mexico, MO, to Nathan and Mabel (Gentry) O’Connor. He was a gospel preacher since 1969, and did mission work in 19 countries. Jim leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Judy; children, Penny, Tracy, and Jamie; grandchildren, Tara, Mike, Matthew, Sabrina, Cody, Amy, Gabrielle, and Cory Jane; and great-grandchildren, Adriana, Michael, and Tayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Bill, Fontella, Clarence, and Dorothy Ann.
