Judy Louise O’Connor, age 79, passed away surrounded by family on January 27, 2022. A visitation will be held on February 8, 2022 at 9:00 am, with services beginning at 10:00 am at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. She will be laid to rest in Swan Lake Cemetery beside her husband of 55 years.
Judy was born on October 9, 1942, in Salisbury, Missouri, to Curtis Woolridge and Mildred (Sally) Woolridge. She was the second born of ten children. She married James (Jim) O’Connor on October 16, 1960 in Benton City, Missouri. Judy was a homemaker and a preacher’s wife. She traveled throughout the world with her husband on many mission trips. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
Judy leaves behind her children, Penny (Steve), Tracy, and Jamie, her grandchildren Tara, Mike, Matthew, Cody, Sabrina (John), Gabrielle and Cory Jane, and great grandchildren Adriana, Michael and Tayton. Her parents and siblings, Charlotte Slaughter, Jimmy Woolridge, and Randy Woolridge, preceded her in death.
A visitation to honor Judy will be held from 9-10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 8, with a funeral service to follow, at 10:00 a.m., both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. She will be laid to rest at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Grain Valley, MO.
In Judy’s honor, the family suggests contributions to be made to Kearney Church of Christ in care of John Shafer, 1004 E. 16th Street, PO Box 643, Kearney, NE 68848, to buy food for the Leper Colony during the pandemic.
