Robert C. Olivarez of Sugar Creek, Missouri; passed away on December 30th, 2017 in DeSoto, Kansas. Robert was a longtime Therapist and Substance Abuse Counselor in the Greater Kansas City Area. He touched and influenced the lives of many through his career path and in his personal life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Feliz Olivarez. Robert is survived and will be missed by his wife Gwendy “Spike” Olivarez, his children, Emilia Moraitis (Angelo), Alicia Smith (Patrick), Peter Olivarez (Vero), Nicholas Olivarez, Courtney Otter (Steve), Casey Fitzgerald (Charlie) and Carey Hass (Scott). He was blessed with fifteen Grandchildren. He will also be missed by his brothers and sister Joseph Olivarez (Jan), Johnny Olivarez (Joanne) and Mary Meier along with their children. A visitation will take place from 10-11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Independence, MO. The interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family of Robert C. Olivarez wishes to thank the care teams from the University of Kansas Cancer Center and Kansas City Hospice for their love and support. The love for Robert C.
