Hugh Olson

Hugh Olson, 85, of Independence, passed away January 15, 2006 at his home with his wife by his side. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday January 20, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Interment in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The Family will greet friends Thursday Evening from 7-8:30 pm at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the City Union Mission or St. Luke�s Hospice. Hugh was born on April 21, 1920 in Kansas City, MO to Ora and Elizabeth Olson. He attended Westport High School where he was a Golden Glove Boxer. After attending college for 3 years, Hugh dropped out to enlist in the Air Force during WWII. He along with his wife were faithful member of the Raytown Baptist Church. Hugh is survived by his wife of 43 years, Leanora of the home, son Richard Boyd of Independence, and 1 sister, Pat Butler of CA. He also leaves many family and friends that will miss his smile, and quiet strength.
