Brenda Kay Olvera August 11, 1946 – November 6, 2013 Resident of Kansas City, Mo passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Brenda was born in Springfield, Ohio and moved to Kansas City as a small child and grew up in the Northeast area and attended Northeast High School. Brenda was one of three children born to the late George Sigmon and survived by her mother Macil Sigmon 90 of Kansas City MO. her sisters Barbara Crabtree of Guthrie OK and Loraine Gresham of Gower, MO. She was the loving wife of Simon Olvera and freshman high school sweethearts for over 50 years. Beloved children Emilio Olvera of Kansas City, Christina Torres of Blue Springs, MO and Kathlene Olvera of Kansas City, MO, treasured grandchildren Jessica Torres, Michael Torres, Terrell Marshall and Emilio Marshall along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her. Brenda loved listening to music, dancing, laughing, being with her family and having fun with friends. Brenda touched the lives of many people with her smile and love, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 7-9:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the Suburban Chapel with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
