Sandy O’Neal, 77, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at her home, surrounded by family. A memorial visitation will be from 6-8pm on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. She will be inurned at Fairview Cemetery in her home town of Bethany, MO at a later date.
Sandy was born on October 28, 1940 in Bethany, MO to Donald Martin and Dolores (Cummings) Martin/Johnston. She attended William Chrisman High School. She married Richard “Dick” O’Neal on July 1, 1958 and together they had 3 daughters. She worked for HSM&C Accounting and retired after 33 years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, games, and cooking. Most of all Sandy loved her family.
She will be remembered by her daughters Roxanne Johnson and husband Norman, Brandy Dupuis and husband Victor, and Sherry Felz and husband John; 7 grandchildren Brianna Porter (Tony), Brittany MacQuarrie (Jon), Chad Dupuis (Kimberlea), Danny Dupuis, Sami Dupuis (Vinnie), Drew Felz, and Ally Williams (Ben); and 7 great-grandchildren Verity Collins, Grayson MacQuarrie, Lily Porter, Bennett Dupuis, Gentry Dupuis, Reese Williams, and Carson Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Dick.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Children’s Mercy PICU, Crossroads Hospice, or Animals’ Best Friends.
