Gary Paul Orlich, 68, of Independence, MO passed away October 31, 2013 at his home. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Services at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Coventry Estates Baptist Church, 17133 E. 39th St. South, Independence, MO. Burial will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Gary was born June 23, 1945 to John and Lena (Sherrill) Orlich. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Gary had worked as a teamster for 39 years, the last seven of which he had worked for Yellow Freight. He was a member of New Life Church in Kansas City, MO. Gary is survived by his parents; his wife, Mae Orlich; son, Gary Paul Orlich II and wife LeaAnne; stepson, Darrel Stogsdill; stepdaughter, Cheryl Simpson and husband Travis; two brothers, John Orlich Jr. and Steven Orlich; one sister, Rebecca Helm; two grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.
