Jane Ortner

Jane Ortner, 78, of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday, October 25, 2003 at her residence in Independence, MO. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Blue Springs. Cremation to follow with private family inurnment is planned at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Kansas City Hospice. Jane was born July 5, 1925 in Leeper, MO to Noah William and Lela Mae (Britt) Marler. She worked as a accountant/bookkeeper for the Liberty Insurance Company until her retirement in 1972. She is survived by 2 sons, Ralph Damon of Independence, MO and John Knight of Helendale, CA; a step son, Weaver Knight of Sacramento, CA; a daughter, Diedre Knight of Silver City, NM; a brother, James Marvin Marler of Illinois; 5 sisters, Lillian Eaton of Ellsinore, MO, Carol Goggin of Leeper, MO, Betty Rose Deming of St. Louis, MO, Nedra Barbre and Sally Kennon of Henando, FL; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brother, 3 husbands and a sister.
