Margaret Helen Orwick, 73, of Independence, MO passed away, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, September 14, 2014. A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church; 4725 NE Lakewood Way, Lee's Summit, MO. A funeral service will follow at the church. Burial will be at Resurrection North Cemetery in Liberty, MO.
Margaret was born November 6, 1940 in Emmetsburg, IA to Francis and Rosella (Flaherty) Brady as one of seven children. She graduated from Bishop Lillis High School. Afterwards, she married and raised her family. Margaret was devoted to her four children and their activities, often becoming the “neighborhood mom” for many of their friends. Later, she worked for the Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor as a Legal Assistant, Docket Clerk. Margaret is remembered as being loving, kind, and generous. She gave a lot of her time and herself to family and friends alike. Margaret is loved and will be missed.
She is survived by son, Michael J. Orwick (Jacki) of Blue Springs, MO; daughters Catherine Keeler (Jeffrey) and Patricia Pierce (Randy) all of Lee’s Summit, MO; son, Bryan Orwick (Diana) of Independence, MO; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Thompson (Wilbur) and brother, Emmet Brady (Shirley) all of Blue Springs, MO; and sister, Sheila Kuestersteffen (Charlie) of Olathe, KS. She was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Frank Brady, as well as sister, Patricia Kuchinski. The family encourages contributions to Crossroads Hospice in her memory.
