Betty Jean Osburn, 85 of Kearney, Mo passed away, Wednesday, January 1, 2013 at the Westbrook Care Center in Kearney, MO. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:30 until service time Saturday at the chapel. Betty was a lifelong resident of Independence, MO. She was the daughter of Clement and Donnie Stark and wife of Robert W. Osburn. She was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord with all her heart. Her greatest job in life was to witness to others about her love for the Lord. Betty was a former member of First Baptist Church in Independence, MO and was a current member of the First Baptist Church in Kearney, MO. She was a retired chief operator for AT&T with 37 years of service. Betty was also a member of the ATA “Transit Golden Age group” and church “Live Wires”. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years. Survivors include; a daughter, Connie Benedict and husband Gary of Hyde Park, NY; a son, Michael Kuhler and wife Donna of Kearney, MO; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a niece, Diana Buzman and family of North Kansas City, MO.
