Gina Ruth Overman, 60, passed away on Sept. 17, 2015.
Family will receive friends on Monday, Sept. 21, from 6-8pm, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. in Independence. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10am at the chapel. She will be laid to rest in Longview Cemetery.
Gina was born on January 5, 1955, to Bruce R. and Deloras M. (Bowman) Copenhaver, in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from East High School in the class of 1972, and went on to work for various doctors’ offices and hospitals in medical records. Gina thrived being around people. Her passions included her children, baking, family get-togethers, connecting through social media, and monthly high school reunions. She also loved her dogs (Buddy & Tink) and her favorite bird, the cardinal.
Gina is survived by her daughter, Heather (Kenneth) Cornwell; daughter-in-law, Alexa Overman; grandson, Raymond; siblings, Fred Copenhaver of Weston, MO, Gayle Tustison of Blue Springs, MO, Gregory Copenhaver of Liberty, MO, Garry Copenhaver of Grain Valley, MO, Gloria Copenhaver of Kearney, MO; and a host of loving extended family.
Gina was preceded in death by her sons, Aaron Christopher Overman and Christopher Ross Overman, and her parents.
