Kathy Renea Owen

After 29 years as a loving daughter and sister, Kathy passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with multiple health problems. Kathy was born on August 18, 1977 in Independence, MO. She graduated from Truman High School, Rockhurst University and attended 2 years at University of Health Sciences. Kathy will be missed as a happy, generous person who accepted others openly. She loved working with children and helping others. She leaves her parents, Jay and Mary; brother, Brian; sister-in-law, Sarah; grandfather, Ben Landreth; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
