Jacquelyn Elizabeth “Jackie” Owens was born September 14, 1942. She was 75 years young when she passed away from cancer, in her Independence, MO home in the early morning of January 15, 2018. Jackie retired from the IRS after a 20 year career to pursue an OTR truck driving career for 4 years, then finally retired as a medical transcriptionist in 2008. She attended St. Marks Catholic Church in Independence, often with her granddaughter, Lizzy. Jackie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, gardening, and baking among many others. She always had a smile for everyone she met and enjoyed her family without parallel. Her door was always open to family and friends.
Jackie is survived by her children, Greg (Tina) Omenski, Kurt (Sherri) Omenski and Richard (Naomi) Omenski; her grandchildren, Kishna (Chris) Rogers, Christopher Omenski, Lizzy Martin, Elizabeth (Hubert) Ortin, and Alyssa (Nick) Solano; her great-grandchildren, Logan and Noni Rogers, Nicholas and MaKenna Omenski, Sloan and Enzo Ortin, Amelia Solano and a sibling on the way; as well as, her brother Paul (Debbie) Owens and their children, Paula and Steve.
A rosary for Jackie will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday February 3, 2018 with a memorial visitation following until 3:00pm, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052.
