Martha Jean Pack, 75, of Lees Summit, MO, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on July 14, 2021 at the Homestead of Overland Park Memory Care Facility. Cremation is planned with services to be held at a later date.
Jeani, or Martha (as she was known in her last few years), was born January 6, 1946 to Frances (Weeks) Worden and Morris E. Worden, Jr. in Kansas City, MO. Jeani graduated from William Chrisman High School and married Daniel T. Pack, April 4, 1964 in Independence, MO. They raised two children together. Jeani was truly multi-talented. She was an accomplished organ and piano player. She accompanied church services, weddings, and conducted adult and children’s choirs. She was a master seamstress. From making dresses to hospital scrubs, elaborate quilts and cross stitching Christmas stockings, or stuffed toys and hats for the needy, there was nothing she couldn’t create. She ran a successful private tax business with her husband for many years. She was an ever caring mom and grandma always remembering everyone’s special days with a little memento or card. She will truly be missed.
Jeani was preceded in death by her husband in April of 2012. This was just shy of their 48th wedding anniversary. She lost her father, Morris, 8/2001, her mother Frances, 4/2020, and brother Ed 6/2009. She is survived by their two children: Daniel Pack and wife Angela, of McKinney, TX, and Sue (Pack) Fanning and husband Martin, of Kansas City, MO. Jeani had six grandchildren: Chris, Allie, Nate, and Jonathan Pack; and Lucy and Will Fanning. She is also survived by two sisters, Janet I. Parks, and A. Lynne Madsen.
The family thanks Homestead of OP, and Stephanie Searcey of Interim Hospice for their excellent care in her last years and days. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.speakschapel.com.
