She loved telling stories of her adventures as a missionary. She is also known for her beautiful operatic voice. She was able to use this God-given talent throughout her life, as she grew up, in school and in church and later in the church choir. She blessed her children and grandchildren with the wonderful gift of music as many of them have been able to use their gifts in their churches as well. She was a classroom teacher at Platte City, Howell Valley, Lone Jack, Grandview, and Lee’s Summit all in Missouri where she taught mostly French and music. She was a very good seamstress, avid crossword puzzle worker, a Sunday School teacher and she loved traveling with Wendell after retirement.
