Oliver Lloyd Page, 94, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013. A visitation will be held from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday, November 22nd at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23rd at the chapel. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO.
Lloyd was born July 6, 1919 in Philipsburg, MT to Edward and Lola (Van Blarken) Page as one of eight children. He graduated high school in Montana and then enlisted in the Air Force where he proudly served during WWII, Korean Conflict, and the start of the Vietnam War. Lloyd was employed by the military as Jet Mechanic for twenty two years. In 1946, he married Dorothy (Barnby) and together they raised two children. After retirement, he was employed by TWA, also as a Jet Mechanic. After his wife’s passing in 1970, he married Grace Virginia (Hodges) Doty, together sharing forty two years of wedded bliss. Lloyd enjoyed playing the organ, hunting, fishing, gardening, and abundant traveling from coast to coast. He is remembered for his well disciplined and loving nature. Lloyd is loved and will be missed.
He is survived by wife, Virginia “Ginner” of the home; son, Phillip Page and wife Janet of Tremble, MO; daughter, Rebecca Sissman of Laramie, WY; stepsons, Alan Doty of Germantown, MD; and Timothy Doty and wife Chrissy of Peoria, IL; stepdaughters, Dianne Myhan and husband Jerry of Searcy, AR; and Lynn Elsbury of Independence, MO; brother, Roland Page and wife Helen of Raymore, MO; fifteen grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.
