Idress Claudine Palmer, 79, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, October 17th at Independence Regional Health Center. A celebration of Claudine�s life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 21st at Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family looks forward to sharing memories of Claudine at her visitation from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20th at the funeral home. Interment to take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Claudine was born October 21, 2005 in Marceline, MO to Claud and Eula (Snider) Wilson. She graduated from Marceline High School. On September 19, 1945, she married Oscar Leroy Palmer in Kansas City, KS, and they moved to the Kansas City area in 1946. They relocated to Independence in 1949, where they raised their three children, and resided until 1982. They retired to Windsor, MO in 1982 Claudine lived there until 1989, moving back to Independence after her husband�s death in 1987. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Independence, MO for many years and transferred her membership to Trinity Presbyterian Church, Independence, MO after Westminster closed. She also attended Windsor Methodist Church while living in Windsor, MO. Claudine was always very active in her church, taking part in the Sewing Circle, assisting in summer Bible School, and various other committees over the years. Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Leroy Palmer, her parents Claud and Eula Wilson, and two sisters, Bernice Stuart and Evelyn Apel. She is survived by her daughter, Mildred "Millie� Briand and son-in-law Wendell of Olathe, KS, her son John Leroy Palmer and daughter-in-law Connie of Clinton, UT, and son James Harold Palmer and daughter-in-law Pam of Kansas City, MO; her precious grandchildren Tracey Caton and husband Terry of Kansas City, MO, Aaron Palmer and wife Kim of Blue Springs, MO, Heather Palmer of Independence, MO, Jeremy Palmer of Independence, MO, Dreau Newman of Kansas City, MO. She also delighted in her only great-grandchild, Austin Lee Palmer of Blue Springs, MO. She is also survived by siblings Buford L. Wilson and wife Fannie of Linneus, MO, Kenneth L. Wilson and wife Alice of Kansas City, KS, Raymond N. Wilson and wife Marjorie of Kansas City, MO, Cecil R. Wilson of Brookfield, MO, Betty L. Leslie and husband Danny of Fort Scott, KS, sister-in-law, Joanne Peterson and husband Audrey of Rancho Cordova, CA, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and wonderful friends.
